“I’m proud to have support from every county in the state as I file for re-election,” Snyder said. “It has been an honor to lead Michigan’s comeback and I look forward to ensuring our state’s economic prosperity for the next four years.”

Over the last three years have Governor Snyder has shown his commitment to every Michigander by creating over a quarter of a million jobs, eliminating a budget deficit and creating a surplus, bringing unemployment to its lowest rate since 2008, and increasing education funding.

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Snyder today issued the following statement after the announcement that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March fell to 7.5 percent, the lowest unemployment rate in Michigan since April 2008.

“Getting Michiganders back to work has been my focus since I came to Lansing. Today’s numbers are further evidence that our state’s economy is turning around and the Michigan comeback is well underway."

"We’ve created opportunities for Michiganders by setting the environment for businesses to grow and thrive. We’ve built a rock-solid foundation and I’m confident we can continue to build upon it.”

Asked about Democratic opponent Mark Schauer, Snyder calls him a "career politician." Schauer's criticizing Snyder on education funding, individual tax hikes and other issues.
