  Angela Rye, CNN political commentator, Hartford social justice speaker

DETROIT - Angela Rye , Attorney, CNN Political Analysis Commentator will be the keynote luncheon speaker at the Workshop and Luncheon entitled “Moving Forward with Liberty and Justice for All” on Saturday October 21. This 9th annual Social Justice Conference will be held at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church (HMBC) from 8 am- 3 pm.
The Social Justice Ministry of Hartford is internally based but externally relevant. The ministry seeks to not only meet the needs of the people currently, but to also prophetically inquire why their needs have gone unmet.

Angela Rye, the keynote speaker is well known for her outspokenness and her unwavering commitment to ensure positive change in the political process. She is a prominent strategist that has offered on-air commentary for several media outlets including CNN, MSNBC, ABC and others.

This is a full day event that includes workshop sessions that feature some of the leading presenters in their field. Workshops include: Kyeisha Ward Tolbert "The Invisible Minority" will discuss how praying can inspire, uplift and ignite our spiritual rejuvenation.

Michael Imhotep "African American Resistance in The Era of Donald Trump: Voter Suppression, Reparations and How Elections Have Consequences" This workshop will discuss history, entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and the effects of the media on society, current events pertaining to the African American community, etc.

Jamal Jordon Faith, Freedom and Fire: The Fight for Liberation and The Origin of Black Detroit” will give information to help participants understand Detroit's turbulent racial history.

Vickie Slaughter “Researching and Telling the Stories of the African American Migration from the South,” will engage the participant in dramatic readings and role playing of the history of the African American migration from the South.

Dr. Jim Perkinson “Apocalypse in the Key of Black, White, Red and Green,” One Hundred Years of Struggle in the City of the Detroit.

This event promises to be both educational and enlightening for everyone. Also Youth Workshops Tickets are very affordable and can be purchased at the door: Adults $25, Youth $15.
