  Detroit holds one of the country’s biggest and best Thanksgiving Parades

DETROIT - Celebrating its 90th year, America’s Thanksgiving Parade, recognized as one of the best parades in the country by U.S. News & World Report Travel. The parade was broadcast in 170 cities across the country and is second in size only to Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York.

The iconic parade stepped off at Woodward and Kirby, and ended at Congress just south of Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit. The parade passed by some of Detroit’s most notable landmarks including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Orchestra Hall, Comerica Park, the Fox Theatre, Ford Field and Campus Martius Park as it marched over three miles along the parade route.

Motown the Musical – Cast members from the Tony-nominated musical will open this year’s parade with a live performance from TV zone prior to the parade’s travel down Woodward Avenue on Thanksgiving morning
Yankee Air Museum Rosie the Riveter Tribute Corps – Women including two original riveters, Iva Davie and Laura Eglinsdoerfer, representing Rosie the Riveter, the World War II American poster icon
