DETROIT - A muralist from Miami has spray-painted the same two words thousands of times on a building on Detroit’s west side as part of an effort to encourage world peace.

Renda Writer worked this week painting “World Peace” over and over again. He tells The Detroit News ( http://detne.ws/2adwUJh ) “I just think it’s what we need.” The mural is part of his World Peace Mural Tour, where he is creating similar murals in several U.S. cities.

Writer was in Detroit last year for a project that included scrawling the words “Black Lives Matter” thousands of times on the side of a Midtown gallery.
