John Legend Headlines Star Studded Concert At Monster Cable Retailers Awards During 2010 CES In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (Tell Us USA) - Monster Cable Retailer Awards, honoring the top sales companies (retailer and distribution) of Monster Cable products capped off a whirlwind week during the 2010 CES with a free concert headlined by R&B superstar John Legend held at the Paris Hotel Casino Resort Ballroom on the Las Vegas Strip Friday night. A performance billed as “John Legend and Special Guests” included his brother Vaughn Anthony and Motown great Stevie Wonder making the show a magical evening.

Over five thousand CES professionals packed the house to enjoy the concert and learned who won the coveted Monster Retailer Awards. Winners were chosen in a variety of categories including the top award, the "Gold Most Monsterous Retailer of the Year."

To our surprise, a metro Detroit company, ABC Warehouse  was nominated in two categories and walked away with the coveted "Most Monsterous Silver Achievement  Award for an Electronics and Appliance Retailer in 2009. Pontiac, MI based ABC Warehouse won the award based on the highest  Monster  Sales percentages within their retail category. This special award is presented to Monster Cable's finest retailers in the world.

Monster, the world's leading manufacturer of cables, AV accessories, and power conditioning products showcased a dynamic range of industry leading products at The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 7th- 10th. Attendees saw why Monster received the prestigious Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award at this year's event.

Legend sang fan favorite hits from all three of his Grammy award winning albums. He was joined on stage by his brother  and music legend Stevie Wonder to cap off the night. Wonder flew out to Vegas solely for the purpose of singing in the finale with Legend, showing once again the respect musicians have for Monsters audio/visual equipment.

After the set, Head Monster Noel Lee presented Legend with a Monster Lifetime Achievement Award before they both introduced surprise guest Stevie Wonder. The crowd jumped to its feet for the duration of the show, and a sea of cell phones went up, as people were eager to capture a shot of the two performers sitting keyboard to keyboard and performing together for this special appearance.

Steve and John performed “Ordinary People” and “My Cherie Amour” to close out the night. It’s been a packed Las Vegas agenda for John, as he was scheduled to celebrate his birthday at Haze in Aria at CityCenter last night.

All-in-all, it was a great performance and a top notch event for the team at Monster. Then again it’s not hard to hold a top notch event when Stevie Wonder is a surprise guest of honor.
