the

to
collectively
discuss
common
issues
and
concerns
facing
the
African
American
community.
On

September
24th,
2:00

3:30
p.m.,

and

advocate,
Stephanie
L.
Jones,
will
discuss
and sign
her
bestselling
book,
The
Enemy
Between
My Legs,
which
shares
her
powerful
testimony
of
overcoming
years of
child
molestation.
This
will
take
place
during
the
Author’s
Pavilion
at the
Walter
E.
Washington
Convention

“Child
molestation
has
always
been a
problem
in our
community
and it’s
even
worst
today
than it
was 10
or 20
years
ago.
During a
scene in
Tyler
Perry’s
new
movie I
CAN DO
BAD ALL
BY
MYSLEF
actress
Taraji
P.
Henson
talks
about
being
molested
and she
says,
“We were
just
taught
that
‘what
happens
in our
house
stays in
our
house.’
Well
that
hasn’t
changed.
Up until
now, we
were
under a
self-imposed
gag
order.
That gag
order
has been
lifted,”
says
Jones.
With the
release
of The
Enemy
Between
My Legs
people
around
the
world
were
shocked
by the
provocative
title
and
Jones’
openness
and
honesty
about
her past
abuse.
Readers
are
allowed
uninhibited
access
into the
heart
and soul
of a
sexual
abuse
survivor
who
endured
over
seven
years of
child
molestation
at the
hands of
different
men in
her
family.
It began
when she
was just
five
years
old.
“Statistics
show
that one
out
three
females
are
molested.
This is
one
reason
why teen
pregnancy,
abortion
and AIDS
continue
to
plague
our
community.
It’s
very
challenging
to tell
young
ladies
to
abstain
from sex
once
they’ve
been
molested.
I had
been
touched,
kissed
and
fondled
so much
as a
child
that by
13-years-old,
I didn’t
want it
to
stop,”
says
Jones.
Jones is
