DETROIT (Tell Us Detroit) - Detroit’s hit singing sensation , K'JON makes his way back home to talk about music, religion and politics today at a meet and greet held at the Garden Court Condominiums, located on East Jefferson Avenue.

Over 200 fans came out to support the star by donating canned goods and clothing. Mix 92.3 Oneil Steven was also in attendance at the event.” It is so nice to have some positive business in Detroit” said the on air radio personality.

The singer was in town autographing and promoting his new CD “The Detroit Connection” which is mainly composed of local musicians. The mix CD is K'JON’s way of exposing some of the unknown talent in Detroit. K'JON believes “the Motor City is just full of gifted people that never get the chance to be showcased”.

K'JON also has a heart for the homeless and the less fortunate, and took advantage of this event by partnering with the Salvation Army. In exchange for food and clothing for the needy, the singer offered autographed pictures and free copies of his hit CD “I Get Around”.

K’JON recognizes the city is experiencing a time of financial hardship and suggests that during these difficult moments we call on a “higher source”.

The national recording artist was born in Detroit and raised in the Detroit Public School system. When K'JON was asked about his thoughts on the recent debate with the DPS, the singer gave Emergency Financial Robert Bobb a personal endorsement, stating “if allowing him to take over academics will help the students, then I am for it”.

The meet and greet was sponsored by the Garden Court Garden Court Condominiums. The complex is located on the East River-Walk District of Detroit. The high-rise complex offers a direct connection to all major transportation exchanges, restaurants and entertainment venues within the city. Carrie Cohen, Director of Sales, said,” the Garden Court Condominiums is a great place to live and she would love to fill up the building with residents”. The facility offers rent to own as well as purchase options.

The historical building was featured on the hit show “Martin” and is also highlighted in K’Jon’s music video “On Everything”.

Kalvin Johnson, better known as K’JON, has been singing since he was eight years old. The singer has” three special ladies in his life, his mother, his daughter and his girl”. K'JON is working on numerous projects and is hoping to soon cross over into the big screens. His new mix CD “The Detroit Connection” will be in stores soon.
