KEM presents 'Mack & Third' featuring The O'Jays at the new West Riverwalk Park

DETROIT, MI (Tell Us Det) - Two-time GRAMMY® nominated artist, KEM, is set to release his anxiously-awaited fourth full-length studio album, PROMISE TO LOVE, on August 26, 2014 through Motown Records.

KEM’s album release will coincide with his fourth ‘MACK & THIRD’ philanthropic event in his hometown Detroit. ‘Mack & Third’ is an all-day concert, fundraiser and food drive to benefit the homeless community, which will take place on August 24, 2014. The 2014 event will feature: ‘A Meal & A Message’ for homeless citizens from KEM; several food & merchandise vendors; free health screenings and all-day live concert and comedic entertainment that will conclude with performances by KEM and The O’Jays.

In 2012, KEM presented his third ‘Mack & Third’ event at Detroit’s Cass Park, which was headlined by Maze ft. Frankie Beverly. The event was attended by 55,000 fans, provided free, hot meals to 1,500 homeless men, women & children and collected in excess of 130,000 canned goods.

Now after a year break last year KEM’s 2014 Mack & Third event has a new, even larger location -- The New Detroit Conservancy West RiverWalk Park at 1801 W. Jefferson, Detroit, MI 48216.

The West RiverWalk site has significant meaning, as KEM spent his final night of homelessness and addiction at that location on July 23, 1990. The larger location also provides the capacity to grow in the future, including the expansion of services, levels of assistance and audience capacity.

With the new location and the new partnership with the Detroit Conservancy in place, this year’s Mack & Third is a ticketed event. All profits from the event will be donated to organizations that provide services to the area’s homeless community.

For a small donation of $5.00, each attendee will have access to a full day of local and National Music and Comedic Acts, free health services, a Children's PlayZone, craft and food vendors and on-stage giveaways.

All attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to Detroit area shelters, food banks, churches and organizations that service the homeless and hungry.

Children 15 and under are free, and must be accompanied by an adult. A limited number of premium tickets are available for $50.00 each, which include: seating at the front of the stage and access to a designated entrance, restroom facilities and beverage carts.

Tickets are available at www.BrownPaperTickets.com.
