Rudy Hobbs
out-raises all opponents; announces $155,000
fundraising quarter
Candidate for Congress
continues to gain significant ground and
momentum in 14th District race
Today, Rep. Rudy Hobbs announced he out-raised
all of his opponents in the race for Michigan’s
14th Congressional District seat. For the final
filing quarter before the August 5th Primary
Election, Hobbs secured over $155,000 in
contributions, bringing his total amount raised
to over $530,000.
“Every day, our team is outpacing, outworking,
and outmatching our competition,” said Hobbs.
“While I’m proud to say we had a phenomenal
fundraising quarter, I’m even more pleased to
announce that our fundraising has continued to
accelerate and we now expect to raise an
additional $35,000 by the end of this week.”
Today’s announcement comes just after Epic MRA
and the Detroit Free Press released a poll
regarding the congressional race. The robo-poll
of 822 respondents identified that Hobbs now
sits at 20 points with voters across the
district.
“With Rudy moving from 6 percent to 20 percent
in a matter of weeks, this poll clearly shows
that momentum is on Rudy’s side,” said Jamaine
Dickens, a principal at DMC Strategies, the firm
managing Hobbs for Congress. “We’ve assembled an
overwhelming cross-section of supporters;
assembled a far superior campaign organization;
and are executing a campaign strategy that this
poll indicates is working.”
Hobbs continues to amass unmatched endorsements
from business, civic, labor, and clergy leaders
across the region; and just recently he added
the Michigan AFL-CIO, American Federation of
Teachers, the Detroit News, and the UAW, to his
long list of supporters.

“Our momentum is building with each call, knock,

said Hobbs. “Come August 5th, I’m confident the
voters of Greater Detroit will choose fresh
ideas and new leadership to represent them in
Washington.”
