Scarab
Club' to
launch
major
branding
initiative
DETROIT
- The
Scarab
Club,
Michigan’s
oldest
nonprofit
organization
that was
founded
by
artists
for
artists
and art
enthusiasts,
will
soon
unveil a
major
rebranding
campaign
intended
to
create
greater
awareness
for the
nearly
110 year
old arts
institution.
The
invitation-only
“Rebirth
of an
Arts
Institution”
VIP
reception
will be
held
from
5:30 to
7 p.m.
on
Thursday,
June 9
at the
Scarab
Club
located
at 217
Farnsworth
St. in
Detroit.
Media is
invited
to
attend.
RSVP is
required.
Prominent
leaders
in the
arts,
including
representatives
from
local
foundations,
galleries
and
museums
as well
as other
special
guests
will be
in
attendance.
“’Rebirth’
is a
very
germane
term for
the
Scarab
Club,”
said the
Scarab
Club
Board of
Directors
President
Duncan
Campbell.
“The
Egyptian
scarab
is a
symbol
of
rebirth
and our
rebranding
campaign
is our
way to
pay
homage
to our
organization’s
rich
history
as well
as
celebrate
the
artistic
renaissance
taking
placing
in the
City of
Detroit.”
Recognizing
the
importance
of
maintaining
a
historic,
vibrant
and
nonexclusive
arts
club in
the City
of
Detroit,
The MARS

Officer
Ken
Barnett
and CEO
North
America
Rob
Rivenburgh
and
their
team of
highly
creative
professionals
decided
to lend
their
support
to
conceptualize
and
develop
the
integrated
marketing
campaign.

for arts
and
creativity

City of
Detroit,”

The
rebranding
initiative
includes
a new
marketing
message
– “We
Know
Detroit
By Art”
– that
reflects
the
Club’s
rich
history
as well
as
future
direction
for the
organization.
Other
creative
assets
include
outdoor
banners,
a series
of brand
launch
posters,
a
reimaged
book
cover
for the
Club’s
Artists’
Annual,
exhibition
postcards
and
posters,
t-shirts,
video,
and
brand
launch
invitations.
The
redesign
of the
Scarab
Club
logo was
provided
by the
College
for
Creative
Studies’
Cross
Stitch
Creative,
which is
a
collaborate
effort
between
The MARS
Agency
and the
College’s
nationally
renowned
advertising
department.
“The
MARS
Agency
has been
absolutely
outstanding
in its
support
for the
Scarab
Club
this
past
year,”
said
Duncan.
“Their
creative
team has
helped
us come
together
from a
graphic,
media
and
marketing
perspective
that
will
ultimately
allows
us to
better
tell our
story.”
The
club,
which
has been
in
existence
since
1907, is
located
near the
Detroit
Institute
of Arts
in
Midtown
Detroit’s
Cultural
District.
It is a
nonprofit
organization
that
provides
arts
education
and
enlightenment
to its
members
and the
community
at-large.
