Economic
Solutions

New City
Empowering
Citizens

Detroit

Knowledge

Motivation

Well-Being

Teach-In)
Due to
the
economic
crisis
and its
impact
on the
City of
Detroit,
a
substantial
team of
professionals
have
decided
to join
forces
and
address
the
issues
of
economic
empowerment
and
re-vitalization
in this
wonderful
City.
During
April
18th
24th
professionals
will
volunteer
their
time by
mentoring
both
students
and
parents
during
various
day and
evening
sessions.
Their
method
of
operation
will be
in
taking
over
classrooms
in a
select
number
of
schools
and
discussing
career
opportunities
with
students.
The
Detroit
National
Teach-In
will
also
host
panel
discussions
with
prominent
individuals
and
experts
of the
City of
Detroit
in the
evening
for
parents.
This is
in hopes
of
providing
direction
to them
as it
relates
to
turning
adversity
into
advantages
and
learning
how to
rise out
of
economic
challenge
both
individually
and
collectively
as a
community.
Other
excellent
events
set to
take
place
during
this
week
include
an
Interactive
seminar
for
youth in
the
foster
care
system
on
building
a
successful
future
and a
Breakfast
with
Professionals
where
students
will
have the
opportunity
to
discuss
their
career
interests
one-on-one
with a
professional
currently
in that
occupation.

objectives
will be
focused
on
providing
exposure
in the
following
areas:
1. Fast
growing
careers/opportunities:
Professionals
from
various
careers
will
discuss
the
necessary
steps to
pursue a
career
in the
most
prolific
industries.

Financial
literacy:
Professionals
will
educate
the
students
of the
importance
of
spending
money
wisely
and how
to
save/plan
for a
strong
financial
future.
3.
Entrepreneurship
Professionals
will
educate
the
students
on the
strategies
that can
prepare
them to
start
their
own
businesses,
even at
a young
age, and
prepare
for a
life as
a CEO.

The
Detroit
National
Teach-In
is a
volunteer
effort
led by
professional
individuals
to
assist
in
mentoring
the
youth
about
their
future
professional
careers.
The
youth
gain
understanding
about
investing
in
education
and
setting
goals to
gain a
successful
career
path. It
is an
opportunity
for
school
age
students
to
enrich
their
horizon
and
speak
one-on-one
with
successful
professionals.
This
campaign
strongly
advises
leaders
in the
community
to get
involved
and
assist
with
impacting
their
lives
with
knowledge
and
representation.
The
Detroit
National
Teach-In
is
beneficial
to
adults
also,
because
by
offering
seminars
in the
evening
with
various
professionals
leading
small
ask-the-expert
sessions,
parents
and
other
adult
individuals
will
have the
opportunity
to
explore
fast-growing
careers
and be
taught
the
fundamentals
of
economic
literacy
and
entrepreneurship.

teaching
those
around
the

the
importance
of

literacy
and

empowerment.
Andrew
Morrison,
President

has a
passion
for
Detroit.
10 years
ago he
was
featured
on the
Oprah
Winfrey
Show as
a young
millionaire
and
since
has
dedicated
his life
to
helping
others
to
achieve
the same
dream
around
the
world
and
especially
in
Detroit.
