National Kidney Foundation of Michigan Hosts 10th Annual Kidney Ball to Fight Kidney Disease

DETROIT - The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan will gather friends and supporters for the 10th Annual Kidney Ball on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the MGM Grand Detroit.

The event, which features the theme “Motown Magique” will include a night of live music, great food, cocktails, and even a candy “bar” to top off the evening, all making it the most fun charity event in metro Detroit. Last year’s Kidney Ball raised over $600,000 for the NKFM’s many programs and services that help the more than 900,000 Michigan residents living with chronic kidney disease, and the many more at risk.

The spectacular evening, which attracts more than 700 of metro Detroit’s givers and shakers, will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. and a fabulous dinner served at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an exciting live auction along with an expansive and unique silent auction. Guests can also enjoy dancing and listening to the soulful sounds of the Jerry Ross Band after dinner.

Special guests this year include former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown, former Detroit Red Wing Joe Kocur, and several other local sports celebrities.

Duane McLean, Executive Vice President of Business Affairs for the Detroit Tigers, and Myra Moreland, Angstrom Automotive, will serve as the Honorary Co-Chairs of the 2014 Kidney Ball. Jason Hall, National Sales Director of Title Source is this year's Event Chair.

“With so many challenges in our state, things are not likely to get easier for people with kidney disease and the many people at risk. Supporting the Kidney Ball will give us the opportunity to continue helping to prevent and manage kidney disease, and raise awareness about its leading causes,” said Dan Carney, President and CEO of the NKFM.

“We invite everyone to support an organization whose mission truly is to make a difference and improve the lives and health of Michigan residents.”

Tickets for the event are $250 per guest and can be purchased by visiting the NKFM’s website, www.nkfm.org/events, or by calling the NKFM at 800-482-1455.
