ENTERTAINMENT GALORE FOR WESTIN BOOK CADILLAC DETROIT GALA WEEKEND

October 25: Book Cadillac: Next Chapter Black Tie Gala


DETROIT, MI – On Friday, October 24th, be a part of the in-crowd and experience Detroit’s block party of the year: ACCESS DETROIT presented by Bank of America, celebrating the completion of the $200 million restoration of one of Detroit’s grand dames of hospitality. The party takes place on Washington Boulevard directly in front of the hotel and features performances by the Cass Technical High School Drum Line followed by Killer Flamingos, Paxahau DJs, Trick Trick, break dancing from Hardcore Detroit and more.

The event runs from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with emcee Spike to keep the night lively with entertainment and fun prizes. Everyone attending will receive an ACCESS DETROIT pass for late evening free giveaways and specials from a great lineup of the hottest bars and restaurants for post-party downtown fun.

Book Cadillac: Next Chapter Gala
Nearly 1,000 guests are expected to celebrate the resurgence of one of Detroit’s legendary landmarks on Saturday, October 25 at the black tie gala, Book Cadillac: Next Chapter, presented by National City. Additional premier sponsors include M.U.S.T. and Marous Brothers Construction/Jenkins Construction. Guests will step onto a red carpet to experience the beautifully restored 455-room Westin Book Cadillac Detroit hotel. The gala evening, a celebration of the hotel’s lively past and expectant future, is a fundraiser for Detroit’s The Children Center and Cleveland’s The Jennifer Ferchill Brain Tumor Center at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. WDIV-TV will be on site from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a live broadcast that promises to be a memorable event in Detroit’s history, and the beginning of Detroit’s “next chapter”.

Gala entertainment
Five-time Grammy winner Michael McDonald will perform two concerts for gala guests in Club Cadillac (Woodward Ballroom). The first concert begins at 8:45 p.m., with a second concert at 10:15 p.m. Music fills the building with the popular Karen Newman Band performing in the Book Tasting Lounge (The Boulevard Room) throughout the evening; the lively action of Dueling Pianos begins at 8:00 p.m. in the one-time-only Brown Bomber Tavern (Crystal Ballroom) staged in a boxing ring with sparring pianists from Pontiac’s JD’s Key Club. Detroit’s George Benson will provide musical background during dinner in the Book Deco Lounge (Venetian Ballroom) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Benson returns with his big band ensemble at 10:00 p.m. for more music and dancing. The beat continues with the hip Club Cadillac DJ spinning a variety of tunes for dancing from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
