presented

celebrating
the
completion
of the
$200
million
restoration
of one
of
Detroit’s
grand
dames of
hospitality.
The
party
takes
place on
Washington
Boulevard
directly
in front
of the
hotel
and
features
performances
by the
Cass
Technical
High
School
Drum
Line
followed
by
Killer
Flamingos,
Paxahau
DJs,
Trick
Trick,
break
dancing
from
Hardcore
Detroit
and
more.
The
event
runs
from
8:30
p.m. to
10:30
p.m.
with
emcee
Spike to
keep the
night
lively
with
entertainment
and fun
prizes.
Everyone
attending
will
receive
an
ACCESS
DETROIT
pass for
late
evening
free
giveaways
and
specials
from a
great
lineup
of the
hottest
bars and
restaurants
for
post-party
downtown
fun.

The gala
evening,

Children
Center
and
Cleveland’s

with a
live
broadcast

promises

two
concerts
for gala
guests
in Club
Cadillac
(Woodward
Ballroom).
The
first
concert
begins
at 8:45
p.m.,
with a
second
concert
at 10:15

fills
the
building
with the
popular
Karen
Newman
Band
performing
in the
Book
Tasting
Lounge
(The
Boulevard
Room)
throughout
the
evening;
the
lively
action
of
Dueling
Pianos
begins
at 8:00
p.m. in
the
one-time-only
Brown
Bomber
Tavern
(Crystal
Ballroom)
staged
in a
boxing
ring
with
sparring
pianists
from
Pontiac’s
JD’s Key
Club.
Detroit’s
George
Benson
will
provide
musical
background
during
dinner
in the
Book
Deco
Lounge
(Venetian
Ballroom)
from
6:00
p.m. to
8:00
p.m.
Benson
returns
with his
big band
ensemble
at 10:00

music

The beat
