guests
gathered
at the
Fox
Theatre
last
night
for the
Detroit
Metro
Convention
&
Visitors
Bureau’s
(DMCVB)
20th
Annual
Recognition
of
Service
Excellence
(ROSE)
Awards,
the most
anticipated
night of
the year
for
metro
Detroit’s
hospitality
industry.
The
DMCVB
announced
all of
the
winners
for this
year’s
ROSE
Awards
and The
Henry
Ford
received
the
first-ever
William
F.
McLaughlin
Hospitality
Award
for
Service
Excellence.
The
night
also
celebrated
more
than 250
hospitality
professionals
who were
recognized
for
their
exceptional
service
contributions.
The ROSE
Awards
is an
annual
event
dedicated
to
honoring
the
hospitality
workforce
throughout
the
region
who
tirelessly
deliver
outstanding
customer
service
in their
industry.
“The
20th
anniversary
of the
ROSE
Awards
was the
biggest
celebration
to date
with
more
nominees
and
guests
than
ever
before,”
said
DMCVB
President
& CEO
Larry
Alexander.
“It is
an honor
to
recognize
these
individuals,
as they
truly
are the
ones
that
make
Detroit
such a
remarkable
destination.”
ROSE
Award
nominations
were
provided
by
clients,
guests,
supervisors
and the
general
public.
One
winner
in each
of the
six
categories
was
chosen.
Additionally,
one
Overall
Service
Champion,
selected
by a
panel of
expert
hospitality
professionals,
was also
recognized.

representative
of The
Henry
Ford,
but an
ambassador
for
greater
Detroit.
The 20th
Annual
ROSE
Awards
honored
past
DMCVB
president
William
F.
McLaughlin,
by
introducing
the
inaugural
McLaughlin
Award.
This
award
recognizes
businesses
for
their
superior
customer
service.
A panel
of
judges
reviewed
the many
nominations
before
awarding
The
Henry
Ford.
Winners
received
lunch
with
Larry
Alexander,
DMCVB
president
and CEO,
dinner
for two,
tickets
to The
Henry
Ford
Museum
and
Greenfield
Village,
tickets
to a
Detroit
Tigers
game, a
dozen
roses
and the
prestigious
ROSE
award
designed
by The
Glass
Academy
founder,
Chris
Nordin.
WXYZ's
Diana
Lewis
and
Glenda
Lewis
served
as
mistresses
of
ceremonies
for the
evening,
which
included
entertainment
by DJ
Prevu,
NuClassica
Duo,
Tumbao
Detroit
and
performances
by
artist
Joe
Castillo
and The
G-Men a
cappela
group.
