Comcast holds VIP ribbon cutting ceremony at new Detroit Xfinity Store in the Midtown District

DETROIT (Tell Us Det) - On Wednesday April 20, 2016, the midtown Detroit neighborhood welcomed in yet another high profile company which will have a retail and business center along Woodward Ave. And just a few steps from the M-1 RAIL.

Detroit XFINITY opened its new location at 3907 Woodward in February but inclement weather caused the company from holding  the VIP celebration and ribbon cutting. The company expects to create at least six new jobs in the city and the store will cover 1,770 square feet of retail space.

“We’re very encouraged by the pace of growth and expectations for future growth in downtown and Midtown,” said Tim Collins, senior vice president of Comcast in Michigan. “This location is right along the M-1 RAIL, providing many of our customers easy access to get to us. Our company has deep roots throughout the city of Detroit that go back several decades. We were here during the tough times and are thrilled to be part of the ongoing resurgence of Detroit’s economy.”

At the store you’ll be able to explore, learn, and talk with XFINITY experts and interact directly with the latest XFINITY products and services. The store will also provide iPads for visitors to demo Xfinity’s mobile apps that let customers watch live TV, stream On Demand content, download movies and TV shows, and manage and monitor their homes while on the go.

“The technology in our homes is much more complex than ever before,” says Jason Gumbs, Comcast’s Heartland Region vice president of marketing. “We design our new stores to make it easy for customers to learn in an engaging, hands-on way about the many capabilities of the products and services we offer that they rely on every day.”

Along with product and service demos, customers will be able to pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales consultants.

The Woodward store will be the fifth of its kind in Michigan.
